The dressing is designed to protect the wound bed, reduce pain and trauma during dressing removal, and allow effective drainage of wound exudate into a suitable secondary absorbent dressing. It is particularly useful for wounds with fragile surrounding skin, delicate granulation tissue, or where atraumatic dressing changes are required.
