For precise temperatures of body parts, simply move to around 1 cm from the specific body part eg Ear lobe, 4 - 5 cm for the Ear, Neck, Under arm pits, forehead etc. Depending on fever intensity this should be every 30 minutes to 2 hours as your GP directs.
